Apprentice HR Administrator

Location: Head Office in Northallerton, with hybrid working arrangements including home working

Contract: 18 month Apprenticeship contract. Contractually employed by North Yorkshire Police

Hours: Full Time, Mon to Thurs 8:30am - 5:00pm and Fri 8:30am - 4:30pm

Salary: Starting salary £21,352.00

Closing Date: Monday 8 December 10am 

Our Support Service functions work in collaboration across North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, providing vital shared expertise to deliver efficient and effective service to our communities.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Apprentice HR Administrator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in HR and within the emergency service family, as the role will provide HR support to both North Yorkshire Police (NYP) and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (NYFRS).

The role will cover a variety of HR functions and provide a real insight into HR in general, whilst providing the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship qualification.

Throughout the completion of the qualification, support will be available from one of our trusted Training Providers and as an organisation we are committed to supporting in the completion of this, with time incorporated into the working week to allow sufficient time to complete the different aspects of the apprenticeship.

The Apprenticeship should take between 12 and 18 months to complete with the potential to lead to a permanent position within the team dependent on individual performance and role availability.

Qualification Eligibility

Age Requirement

  •  Minimum age: 16 years old
  •  No upper age limit.

Residency Status

  •  Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  •  Applicants must have lived in the UK or EEA for at least three years before starting the apprenticeship.

Educational Requirements

  •  Must not have previously achieved a qualification at a similar subject and level
  •  Must not currently be in any other funded education or training.
