Location: Harrogate Police Station, Beckwith Head Rd, Harrogate

Hybrid work available

Salary: Scale 6 (£30,783 - £32,772)

Contract: Permanent / Full time with Part time and Job Share Considered 

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Engagement Officer to join the Office of the North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC).

 

You will be part of the Communications and Engagement team, ensuring that the Commissioner has strong links with the communities she serves, and that the public have opportunities to understand and influence the improvement of their police and fire services.

 

As Community Engagement Officer you will be enthusiastic, well organised, and a good communicator. You will be developing and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders and residents, to gather feedback and arrange a variety of consultation and engagement events across North Yorkshire and the City of York.

 

The duties carried out by the Community Engagement Officer include:

 

·         The development and delivery of a high-quality public engagement plan.

·         Promoting and facilitating public/stakeholder engagement activities across York and North Yorkshire to support the work of the OPFCC.

·         Planning and implementing engagement and consultation events.

·         Organising the Commissioner’s monthly advice surgeries across York and North Yorkshire.

·         Developing close working relationships with residents and partners so their views are taken into account.

·         Evaluating activities, programmes, and events to make improvements for the future.

 

 What you will bring to the role:

 

·         A high standard of written and spoken English, including an appropriate appreciation of tone and language style depending on the stakeholders you are engaging with.

·         The ability to work with detailed information and produce accurate and well-presented documents/reports.

·         Experience of copywriting.

·         The ability to work to tight deadlines and juggle competing priorities.

·         You will be organised and have excellent administrative skills.
